Where does all the shit go?

“It smells like death” is how mayor Heather Hall describes a trainload of shit from New York City, currently sitting in the town of Parrish, Alabama.

Parrish is a small place, just 982 people live there – which is why it can get pushed around. The shit-train has been sitting there in sidings for a couple of months, gently festering in the southern swelter.

Its noxious cargo is destined for the “Big Sky” landfill, about 20 miles east of Parrish, which has been taking shit from NYC since early 2017.
