Venezuela’s body bombs

Bodies have started exploding in the University Hospital Antonio Patricio de Alcalá, in the province of Sucre, Venezuela.

Venezuelan hospitals – like much of the country – are running low on essential supplies, such as disinfectants and proper embalming fluids.

The hospital’s mortuary leaves corpses for several days on the floor of the hospital.

They sometimes burst open, as the digestive gases expand.
