Nazimuddin Samad, a student at Jagannath University in Dhaka, capital of Bangladesh, was hacked and shot to death this week as he was walking home.
His killers reportedly rode off on a motorbike while praising ‘Allah’.
Samad was an outspoken atheist who criticised radical Islam and promoted secularism on social media.
Bangladesh is officially a secular state.
But in 2015 at least four secular Bangladeshi bloggers were hacked to death, while a publisher who worked with one of them was stabbed to death.
