Trying to take a ‘selfie’ while drunk and standing 800 feet on the edge of a steep cliff…what could possibly go wrong with that?
Vishnu Viswanath, 29, and his wife, Meenakshi Moorthy, 30, were standing on Taft Point, a peak in the US’s Yosemite National Park last October.
The assistant coroner in charge of investigating their deaths said their bodies, found at the bottom, were so badly smashed that they were unable to accurately assess how drunk they were, but they had alcohol in their systems. They died from “multiple injuries to the head, neck, chest and abdomen, sustained by a fall from a mountain” said the inquest.
In an eerie touch, they had set up a tripod at Taft Point before they fell from the cliff.
