In Mississippi, fusillading is now a possible method of legal execution.
More commonly know as death by firing squad, it would be the final option for the state if lethal injection, nitrogen gas, and electrocution are ruled unconstititional for whatever reason.
The firing squad possibility was explained by the legislative change proponent Robert Foster as “it’s been one of the more common practices through history. It’s very instant and about as humane as you can get while performing an execution in my personal opinion.”
Oklahoma and Utah already permit firing squads and Mississippi will be the third in the US to adopt the practice.
