Swinging Pakistan

Pakistan’s hangmen are busy people these days.

Fifteen people were executed on 21 April, the biggest number for a single day since an unofficial moratorium on capital punishment was lifted in December 2014.

The moratorium was lifted in retaliation for an attack on a school by Pakistani Taliban gunmen. They killed 153 people, most of them children.

More than 8,000 Pakistanis are awaiting execution.
