Suicide survival

Suicide has more than one casualty – those who are left behind also suffer. The American Association of Suicidology has just published a fact sheet outlining that with more than 41,000 suicides a year in the US there are almost 250,000 suicide ‘survivors’, a family friend or member of the person who killed themselves. In the last 25 years around six million Americans have suffered the shock, pain, and guilt that can follow a suicide of someone they know.
