Sudan loves rapists

Noura Hussein is facing execution, by hanging, in Sudan. Her crime is that she murdered her husband.

Hussein, 19 years-old, was allegedly forced by her parents into marrying her husband when she was 16, but she fled and lived in hiding with an aunt. After three years of that, her parents told her the marriage had been cancelled and she went back home.

But her parents had lied and the marriage went through.

Six days later, her husband raped her as three of his male relatives held her down.

Next day she stabbed and killed him.

Under Sudanese law the free and full consent of both parties is required for a marriage.
