Steady, aim, fire

Alva Campbell, 59, was due to be executed on 15 November 2017 for the fatal shooting of an 18 year-old man in 1997.

Trouble was, the executioners in Ohio weren’t able to find a decent vein to inject. Never mind – he’s been rescheduled for another try in June 2019.

Now his lawyers have filed a 533-page statement which requests he be killed by firing squad because the risks to his health from a lethal injection are too great.

The wrangling over their request will go on right up to June 2019.
