Start planning

The Funeral Planning Authority (FPA) has published a brief statement based on a survey of 1,000 British ‘consumers’ aged 40-plus, which it claims shows that people first consider planning their own funeral at around 51, usually prompted by the death of a parent.

It seems that, in Britain at least, people are starting to wise up to the fact that making arrangements is not just an emotional matter: the FPA says that “almost two thirds of those aged over 40 view making their own funeral arrangements as a practical necessity.”
