Stewart Parnell, the former owner of the Peanut Corporation of America, is facing possible life in prison.
Together with his brother Michael, who faces up to 24 years, he was found guilty in 2014 of conspiracy charges.
They knowingly delivered peanuts infected with salmonella to customers; 9 people died and hundreds were affected by the salmonella.
Prior to his court case Parnell had been a peanut-quality adviser to the US Department of Agriculture.
