Kim Jong Nam, 46, the older half-brother (and rival) of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, has been assassinated at Kuala Lumpur airport.
Initial reports say that he was killed by two women using poisoned needles, a typical modus operandi of North Korean agents. Subsequently it seems one of the women put a cloth over his face and knocked him out. It’s still a mystery as to how he died – equally it’s a mystery as to who his assailants were. Malaysian police said a 28-year-old woman with a Vietnamese passport had been arrested at the airport in connection with the investigation.
Kim was a good time boy who liked the gambling (and other delights) of Macau, where he had long lived in exile, under the protection of China.
