Fancy a quiet place for your final resting place?
The Belsay Estate in Northumberland (pictured) has one of the best surviving examples of a pele tower, a type of fortification built in the late Middle Ages. The Middleton family are recorded as having owned Belsay as far back as 1270.
Now Laura de Wesselow, a member of the Middleton family, has opened Belsay Woodland Burials, where you can have a natural burial amid peace and quiet and at very reasonable prices.
And for a very small cost – £50 currently – Sam the pony will carry your coffin to the grave site.
