Quack-quack, quack-quack

The post-mortem on a duck in Ranchi, the state capital of Jharkhand in northeast India, will be critical to the trial of Falindra Lohra, 30, who is accused of killing his mother-in-law, Sakuri Devi, in order to take over as the boss of witchcraft in their village.

Chiranjit Prasad, the police officer in charge of the case, says that Lohra sacrificed a duck and a buffalo calf before killing Sakuri Devi. A duck with a severed head and a buffalo calf with injuries around the neck were found tied to a wooden post near Devi’s body.
