Pakistan’s love of the rope

A new report claims that Pakistan has accounted for 13% of all the world’s executions since 2014, and that every fourth person on death row in the world is a Pakistani.

That’s the bad news. The good is that Pakistan’s supreme court overturns 85% of death sentences.

There’s more bad: in Pakistan you might spend as long as 11 years sitting on death row waiting to find out whether you will face the rope.
