No wailing lamentations here

In the central Asian republic of Tajikistan, the government has printed and distributed 500,000 copies of a brochure that lists new guidelines on how funerals must be conducted.

Family and friends of the deceased are still allowed to cry but there’s to be no ululation, no hired mourners, no chasing the coffin as it is driven away, and no hair-pulling as a mark of grief.
