No beheading

Reassuring news from the acting president of the Prampram traditional council in Ghana, Nene Benta III.

In announcing the death of Nene Tetteh Djan III, paramount chief of the area, Nene Benta III said: “Here in Prampram, our deities do not accept blood sacrifices. Even the main deity of Prampram doesn’t accept the blood of goats, fowls, etc. So there is no way for people to be beheaded in this area for rituals.”

The week-long funeral services end tomorrow 29 October, accompanied by drumming, musketry and traditional rituals.
