Miserable students

University-age suicide rates in the UK have risen by 56% in the decade between 2007 and 2016, according to the Hong Kong Jockey Club Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention.

That’s up by 56% in a decade, from 6.6 to 10.3 per 100,000 people. The average suicide rate for the general population aged 15-19 was 5.9 per 100,000, while that for the age bracket 20-24 was 10.4.
