Mind the kickback

Vladislave Kazakevich has been sentenced to a maximum 15 years in Minsk, capital of Belarus (pictured). He’s a lucky chap.

If he had been 18 (and not 17) when he used a chainsaw, and then an axe, to kill Elena Aleksandronets, 43, he would have been executed by a shot in the back of the head – Belarus’s preferred method of judicial execution.

Kazakevich attacked four women at a shopping centre in Minsk in October 2016, killing one and wounding the others.

As he was sent down he said: “I’ll be back to finish the job.”

So avoid shopping in Minsk in 2032.
