Mind that dog-end

An inquest into the death of Zakir Hussain, a 40 year-old farm worker at an Oxford farm, has heard that he probably died from a discarded cigarette end – he was, apparently, a very heavy smoker.

His body, only identifiable from DNA tests, was discovered in the burnt-out remains of a building he’d been living in on the farm.

Verdict: accidental death.
