Mexican killings: new record

In the first six months of 2018 there were 11,241 murders linked to organised criminal gangs in Mexico, more than 60 per day on average and a 28% increase over the same period of 2017, according to Semáforo Delectivo.

In one state, Nayarit, the number of murders rose by an astonishing 310% against the same period for 2017.
