Learning from the past

As wheelchair-bound 79 year old Torrance Epps was sent to prison in November by a judge in Missouri, having been sentenced to 18 years for having shot dead Tiandra Johnson, 32, he said: “I was awfully upset…I’m awfully sorry.”

Epps had already served 14 years in jail for having killed his wife’s mother and her two parents in 1973. Epps believed Johnson was inside his apartment at his senior citizen’s home and about to rob him. “It was my life savings” he added.
