Is it or isn’t it?

Sabri Abd Al-Raouf, a Muslim cleric based in Egypt has issued a fatwa ruling that it is not a sin for men to have sex with their dead wives. This has been denied by Egypt’s state-run Islamic institution, which rules on religious affairs.

Egypt’s Supreme Council for Media Regulation decided that Sabri Abd Al-Raouf  should be banned from appearing on TV after he made the fatwa.

A man with particular tastes, Sabri Abd Al-Raouf said in a TV interview in 2009 that “the mother [of the bridegroom] and other female relatives may look at the bride’s hair and neck, and may smell her private parts…Some women and girls sweat, and there are men who are nauseated by this.”
