Indian euthanasia

A form of passive euthanasia is now legal in India.

Following a ruling by the country’s Supreme Court, India will now be permitted to draft a living will that specifies life support should not be given if a person is in a coma.

People will only be allowed to draft such a will as long as they are in a “normal” state of health and mind.

Opponents of the change argue that it will mean that Indians who are too poor to afford long-term health care will be forced into signing these living wills.
