Her tiny hand is frozen

cryonic tankA two-year old who died from a brain tumour has become the youngest person to be cryogenically frozen.

The girl, named Matheryn Naovaratpong, from Thailand, died from a brain tumour.

The cost of freezing a body and brain – the two are separated before the procedure – is between $80,000 and $200,000, plus a $770 annual fee for storage.

The procedure involves putting the body on to a bed of ice; restarting the heart artificially; draining the blood and replacing it with antifreeze; and slowly lowering the body’s temperature over two weeks to minus 196 degrees centigrade.
