In Nottingham, Adrian Straw has just been sentenced by magistrates to 140 hours of community work, a suspended 12 week prison sentence, and £905 in costs for hammering his pet cat, Lupo, to death in his back garden. He was spotted in the act on 17 July 2017 by a neighbour.
Lupo, 14, reportedly had ingrowing toenails.
When asked why he killed the cat Straw replied: “She bit me. She had cancer. The vets can’t do nothing.”
