Are you a sugary-drink addict? Then you stand a higher chance of premature death than a person who opts for the water jug.
According to the American Heart Association, there was “an association among people who drank the most sugary drinks and an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and other causes of death.”
And while swapping that sugar-enriched drink with an artificially sweetened one was associated with “a slightly lower risk of dying”, drinking four or more artificially sweetened drinks a day was “associated with a higher risk of death among women.”
