Given the bird

Kevin Flint, 52, a policemen who worked in the UK’s Thames Valley force, was riding his motorbike home on 15 January this year when he hit a low-flying pheasant, which struck him in the upper chest area. The bike was going more than 80 miles per hour on a road with a speed limit of 60 mph at four o’clock, when it would have been dark.

An inquest has learned that Flint was so surprised that he lost control of the motorbike, swerved into a lay-by and crashed into a stationary vehicle, and died.
