In the US, the suicide rate for females aged 15-19 reached a 40 year peak in 2015, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The rate in 1975 was 2.9 per 100,000 of population; in 2015 it was 5.1.

The rate for males aged 15-19 in 2015 was 14.2 per 100,000, compared to the 1975 rate of 12 per 100,000.
