Maui's-dolphin-2Maui’s dolphin, the world’s smallest, is on the verge of extinction now that its population is below 50.

 

The German-based Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union has forecast that Maui’s are likely to die out within the next 15 years.

Maui’s dolphins are only found on the west coast of New Zealand’s North Island.
