In the district of Rohtas in the Indian state of Bihar, two policemen have died within less than five minutes of one another at a police station. No foul play is suspected and the police say they are not conducting post mortems.
Police said constable Shyam Kishore Singh, 58, suffered a fatal asthmatic attack, while assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Jawahar Lal, 41, died of a heart attack.
There have been suggestions – hotly denied by the police – that they died after drinking some home-made alcohol. Bihar is a ‘dry’ state – which the police monitor and enforce.
