Dignified Dying

More people died in the UK than for quite a while.

In 2015 there was a 7% year-on-year rise in the number of deaths, not including Northern Ireland – a total of 588,000.

That’s a biggest percentage rise than in recent times – in fact you have to go back as far as 1963 to see anything similar.

It’s good news for the funeral directors.

Dignity, one of the biggest, and a publicly quoted firm, made £69 million in pre-tax profits last year, compared with a loss of £67.7 million in 2014.
