If you happen to be a drunk person in New South Wales do not threaten someone with a knife.
That seems to be the moral of the shooting by police officers in 2015 of 51 year-old Stephen Hodge, who was shot and killed within 40 seconds of the arrival of the police at a post office where he worked.
Hodge was threatening to stab his boss, Brendan Hogan, with a 30-centimetre kitchen knife. After they asked Hodge to drop the knife and he turned on them they shot and killed him.
A now concluded inquest has praised the officers for their quick response.
