Cool to be a vampire

Silicon Valley, home to all that is cool and hip. Including a growing number of venture start-ups trying to promote parabiosis, which is no more than the sharing of blood between old and young, to the benefit of the former.

The idea that transfusing young blood into an old body has remarkable rejuvenation effects is almost as old as the hills. It seems to work, in that the older body becomes much perkier, at least for a while.

There’s nothing new under the sun. Bram Stoker latched on this way of achieving immortality in 1897 – and did without all the tubing.
