Cemetery bus ride

The Belgian Van Hool bus manufacturer has developed a 35 foot long coach which is designed to “provide the deceased with a serene and intimate mode of transport on their final journey, accompanied by mourners,” it says. Van Hool has worked with the Netherlands’ passenger transport firm Koninklijke Beuk to build the bus, which can accommodate 26 mourners plus the coffin. The coach has seats with tables, tinted windows for privacy and a U-shaped seating arrangement at the rear. Three on-board screens allow photographs and film footage of the deceased to be displayed, and music fitting to the deceased can be played, says the company.
