Capital punishment slowly dies

New Hampshire has become the 21st state in the US to abolish the death penalty. It’s rather a symbolic decision because the last time the state executed anyone was in 1939: Howard Long was executed on 14 July 1939, for molesting and fatally beating 10-year-old Mark Neville Jensen. There is just one person on death row in the state – Michael Addison, who was sentenced more than a decade ago for killing a police officer.
