Canada’s euthanasia figures

Is 1.12% a little or a lot? If you judged a little, then what is one every three hours?

Canada legalised euthanasia in June 2016 and it’s becoming rather popular. In 2018 about 1.12% of all Canadian deaths – around 3,000 – were due to euthanasia. There have been at least 6,749 since June 2016 and the average age of the person was 72; almost all saw the doctor administer a lethal injection and only six were attributable to assisted suicide.

The number works out to be almost one every three hours…
