Buried at last

The uniformed corpse of Lt. Col. Karl Karlovich Rjepetski has at last been buried.

He was a Tsarist officer of Polish origin whose body was unearthed  in April 2017 in northeastern Turkey, in Ardahan province.

He died from illness in 1894 while serving in the First Caucasus Army Corps’ 20th Infantry Division.

He was laid to rest in Ardahan’s Malakanlar Cemetery, where Russians lived in Ardahan, while it was under the control of Russia, were buried.
