Botched Bitcoin butchery

Kyle Davies discovered a terrific idea for spending his Bitcoin – buy a Glock 17 pistol off the dark web.

The 19 year-old ordered the gun to be delivered to his home in Gloucester but, as luck would have it, it was intercepted at Newark airport in New York. Police tipped off the local coppers and the inevitable happened. Davies had a shopping list which included gas mask, trench coat, gloves, boots, body armour and a leg pistol holder. Police believe that he was planning to try to stage a massacre.

A jury at Gloucester Crown Court swiftly found him guilty of attempting to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life, and attempting to possess the ammunition with intent to endanger life. He’s now facing a long spell in jail.
