Body parts merchant

The trial has started of Arthur Rathburn in Detroit. He has been in prison for two years and is charged with wire fraud and abetting and making false statements.

His business was body-broking – he was the boss of Biological International.

He bought and sold body parts from around the world, storing them in a warehouse in Detroit and selling them to medical researchers. He cut up bodies with chainsaws; transported fresh heads on commercial aircraft; and stored more than 1,000 body parts.

The FBI have been on his case for some time; he’s supposed to have cut up the bodies without proper consent. It’s suggested that many of the body parts were diseased and the medical researchers who used his services were unaware of that.
