A retired policewoman who was described as ‘sporty, fit, healthy’ died from hypothermia, according to an inquest in England.
Elizabeth Mary Isherwood was 60 when she died in a timeshare complex, trapped in an airing cupboard. It’s not known what she was doing there – she was alone on holiday in the Snowdonia national park.
The door automatically closed behind her; there was no light inside; it was a “very confined space” according to the coroner. No doubt in desperation she managed to wrench a piece of pipe away from the wall but all that did was to release a spray of cold water over her naked body. A maintenance worker found her body after a water leak developed.
