Bashed Belgian brothers

The Brothers of Charity, a Roman Catholic organisation which describes itself as “an international religious congregation with a strong commitment to various social issues”, have had their revenge – Luc Lemmens, 61, and Veron Raes, 57, who oversee the organisation’s 12 hospitals in Belgium, have been chucked out for not opposing euthanasia at their hospitals.

The organisation was founded in Belgium in 1807, and still today provides care for the elderly and also the mentally ill. It’s quite likely that the Brothers of Charity might drop their sponsorship of the hospitals, if they will not accept the request to oppose euthanasia.
