Automated extinction

Everything is headed for extinction sooner or later. Including the Automated Teller Machine or ATM, which is likely to have a brief life-span of less than 100 years.

The first ATM appeared in the UK in June 1967 and, globally, there is now around one ATM for every 3,000 people.

But the ATM is likely to become extinct by 2040 as people give up using cash.
