Rita Wolfensohn, from Brooklyn, is a blind hoarder.
On 15 September the New York police found a corpse at her home, where she had fallen over and needed emergency hospital treatment.
In a second floor bedroom, akin to Miss Havisham’s rubbish strewn room in Great Expectations, a room covered with cobwebs and rubbish, was an intact skeleton, dressed in jeans, socks and a shirt, lying on its back on a thin mattress on the floor.
It’s thought to be the body of one of her two sons, who has not been seen for two decades. He would be 49.
Wolfensohn thought he had moved out long ago. But all he had done was pass on.
