Air freshener overkill

When Rosemary Outland died from natural causes in Virginia at the end of December at the age of 78, her daughter Jo-Whitney, 55, could not be arsed to bring in the coffin doctors.

So she did her best by covering Rosemary’s corpse with 54 blankets and 66 air fresheners, and left her where she was.

Rosemary’s other relatives were suspicious after not seeing her for a couple of months. They called the police, who found the mummified body.

Jo-Whitney has been charged with the concealment of a corpse. Punishment for which is up to five years’ jail and a $2,500 fine.
