David Pascoe, a prosecutor in South Carolina prosecutor, has suggested that the state should use firing squads as an execution method because the state has run out of the drugs needed for lethal injections.
South Carolina considered a legislative proposal on the firing squad alternative in 2015. The bill has passed the Senate. If the House Judiciary Committee approves it, it could pass the House before the Legislature adjourns 9 May.
In the state there are 29 people on death row right now.
