A killer’s final thoughts

The US Supreme Court rejected a last-minute appeal for clemency by David Zink in Missouri.

He was convicted of the abduction, sexual assault and murder in 2001 of Amanda Morton, who was aged 19.

His final statement said: “Statistically speaking, we [those on death row] have a much easier death than most, so I encourage you to embrace it and celebrate our true liberation before society figures it out and condemns us to life without parole and we too will die a lingering death.”

He was executed by lethal injection.
