A helluva town

Murders in New York City are likely to reach an all-time low this year. That low was reached in 2014, with 333 murders (excluding terrorist crimes such as that of 11 September 2001). If the current trend continues there may be just 268 murders in the city by the end of 2017. Back in 1990 there were 2,262.
